Most of us use forward slash in URLs e.g., href=”/2005/200501/” – I recently came across a site with url href=” \ 2005 \ 200501 \ ”

Both of the above urls are generated as /2005/200501/ in IE, while in Firefox, former is /2005/200501/ while latter becomes /2005/200501/20050126/\2005\200501\20050126\

searched with “slash” and there seems to be nothing similar…

Some suggestions

1) it would be nice to see the following message !

treatment started at 10:53 CET and time is now 11:27 CET. The treatment is expected to last until 11:55 CET

2) i have seen websites collecting email address and inform when the site is back up! – in this way, you wow more visitors especially the first time grand ma visiting her first grand child 🙂

3) the permalink url title could be improved ! e.g., http://blog.flickr.com/flickrblog/2005/01/the_flickr_data.html title is FlickrBlog – This could be appended with the post title like “FlickrBlog: The Flickr database is at the spa.” > why: when bookmarking / blogging: title doesnot have to be changed…

Update: See Handling of forward and backward slash in URL. In the sttemple URL, backslash has been used instead of slash (forward) and this usage is rendered by IE but not by Firefox. Have written to sttemple.com to fix the issue. In the meantime… it is quite easy to find out the correct link to the images… Link to the image folder removed upon request…

Last month, a worldwide survey was conducted by the UN — The only question asked was: “Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?”

The survey was a HUGE failure.

In Africa they didn’t know what “food” meant.

In Eastern Europe they didn’t know what “honest” meant.

In Western Europe they didn’t know what “shortage” meant.

In China they didn’t know what “opinion” meant.

In the Middle East they didn’t know what “solution” meant.

In South America they didn’t know what “please” meant.

And in the USA they didn’t know what “the rest of the world” meant.
